We're so glad to hear about Jason's new job! Ellynn, you've done a wonderful job supporting him through this and Jason, you've done a wonderful job being patient through it all. In a talk the other day I heard the speaker say, "How you know you're on the straight and narrow is when you are constantly faced with trials." The adversary will contiuously try to knock you off your feet, and he begins in the home. President Gibson said at our Stake Conference that the adversary knows your spouse better than you do and will do all he can do destroy a temple marriage because it has eternal consequences for not only your children, but all your posterity.
This is why he begins in the home. Great words of wisdom from our Stake Pres.
It sounds like Jason & Ellynn had a great Stake Conference as well! Always great things to hear at the adult session, which is why this is probably the most important meeting to attend. I'm so glad we did.
So, here are a few pictures to show you. We have Jack, the kitten, who likes to lay on everyone, no matter what they're doing. He's a pretty affectionate cat. During the BYU game, he jumped on Janae's back to camp out. The kids were all wrestling together on the couch during halftime, while Jessica napped downstairs during the entire game. Not sure how we're going to handle a Utes fan being in the house, but I guess I'll just have to endure. haha
Your dad was texting Jason about the game, so that's what he's doing. Oh, and a few days before, we had this incredible lightning, hail, thunder, rainstorm, which just about broke my eardrums, it being so loud! I love storms like that! I was really surprised the lights didn't go out. Darn!
Sorry you're sick Ellynn and I hope you get feeling better. I think I had a miserable cold for the last two months of my first and second pregnancy. Miraculously it disappeared the second I gave birth. Wierd. But you are definitely a trooper and continue to stick it out.
Also good to hear you're doing hair still. The girl that cuts our hair now, Andrea, does it out of her parents home, even though she doesn't live there. Her dad even built her a small salon in their old laundry room. She is so busy she has to turn away clients and even hired her niece to set the appts for her and return phone calls. She has a 2 year old daugher, so this works out well for her.
Women's Conference is coming up soon, on the 27th, so make sure you go. You might see me in the choir. The practices have been quite intense, and it's also been an amazing experience. The RS General Presidency comes to the practices and we get to visit with them. We have a dress rehearsal at the Conference Center this Saturday. We will be wearing white shirts and black dresses. The director, who is awesome, calls us the "Mom's Choir." But the reason they want us in these type of colors is because as they travel the world, especially in 3rd world countries, they notice that all the choirs that sing for them are dressed in the same colors. The women there can always find a white top, even if it's a t-shirt, pulled inside out with the logo on the inside. We need to be relatable so that the spirit can convey the message to whomever, in whatever circumstance they are in. It should be a great meeting, so I hope you all make the effort to go.
Women only of course.... haha
Your dad has his big elk hunt in a few weeks. Paul and Janna are nice enough to let him use their property, which has seen elk on it lately. So pray for him to get his elk, then you can have elk meat next time you come down.
Well, I've rambled longer than Ellynn, so I will say goodbye!! Love you all!
